I don't make many baskets with lids - they take as long as making two separate lid-less baskets, the main problem being that the lid must fit and it's just not easy to measure the two pieces when they are still on the machine. The one pictured left was a commission and illustrates how lovely Memory Baskets are when made with a customer's own favourite fabrics.
All my baskets with lids - or indeed without - make a pretty storage option for makeup or as a sewing basket. Other pages in this section of my website will introduce you to the many effects and shapes in a wide variety fabrics - from silks and satins to modern and vintage cottons, even lurex. Surprisingly the basket at the bottom of the page is vintage Liberty fabric - not what you would have expected, is it?! And new hand-dyed ones will be coming in the next few months.
Don't forget - I can make these baskets in your own fabrics, so you have a memory of your favourite dresses or fabrics without having to give house-room to an unwanted garment or pile of fabrics. I don't charge any extra for working with your fabrics, but do ask that you allow at least three weeks for me to make your basket for you. If you are one of those mums who just had to hang onto all your daughter's childhood dresses, wouldn't a basket using a little bit from each be a lovely 21st birthday present? Alternatively, you might like to come and learn to make your own basket, here in West Horsley - class dates and times to suit for up to three people at a time or in your own home.
Postage & packing on a single basket is £4.95. Please contact me for combined postage if you are ordering more than one item to be sent in the same package. All baskets are one-offs, so it is important to contact me prior to purchase to ensure your choice is still available.
